Before & After School Care

Drop-Off & SAS childcare is open and operating as usual. When necessary, we adapt our routines to suit the latest Coronavirus guidelines (eg children in year groups allocated to staff and specific rooms). Specific questions should be emailed to SAS@whitegroveprimary.co.uk

Morning Drop-Off Club

Our Drop-Off Club is located in The Hub. The morning drop-off club runs from 8:00am until 8.55am, supporting parents as part of their on-going morning journey. Please note that breakfast is NOT provided. Entry is via the school office entrance and the cost is £4.00 per session. Bookings need to be made using the school on-line booking system, Scopay. Please contact the school office for more information.

'Stay After School' (SAS) Club

Our 'Stay After School' (SAS) after school provision operates on site from 3:30-6:00 pm daily.

SAS takes place straight after the end of the school day and is based in The Hub. Children in EYFS and Year 1 are collected from their classroom by a member of the team; children in Years 2-6 take themselves directly to the Hub, where they are registered.

During the sessions children are able to play and participate in various arts and crafts activities, as well as having opportunities for physical play in a number of different locations including the hall and the playground, all supervised by our play workers. A snack is provided during the session but the children still need an evening meal after being collected.

The cost is currently £12.00 per session, per child (Second or subsequent children will receive a 5% siblings discount, £11.40 per session). We accept childcare vouchers and we are currently registered for all schemes: please contact the school office for more information.

We do offer the option of an ad-hoc booking system which is £14.50 per child per session.  We cannot guarantee however that we will always have space available and this is on a case by case basis.

When arriving at school to collect your child, parents need to call the dedicated SAS mobile phone to let the staff know that they have arrived. Children will then be brought to the school office entrance to be signed out and taken home.

Bookings are made via the sas@whitegroveprimary.co.uk e-mail address and are run on a rolling contract.

Stay After School (SAS) Whitegrove
After School Childcare – Terms and Conditions

September 2022

Stay After School (SAS) at Whitegrove is a quality provision of after school care for pupils of Whitegrove Primary School, whose parents/carers require additional time beyond the end of the school day before collecting their children. It is open to pupils in all year groups (EYFS through to Y6) and offers a wide range of activities in a familiar, friendly and stimulating environment, under the supervision/care of qualified and experienced staff. There will be a paediatric First Aider on site. It is managed by the Governing Body of Whitegrove Primary School and is covered by the OFSTED inspection applicable to the school.

Opening Hours: Term time only between 15:30 and 17:55.

Booking: This provision can be booked via the SAS e-mail address only for whole weeks or individual days in advance on a rolling half-termly contract basis. One month’s notice to cancel your place is required in writing to sas@whitegroveprimary.co.uk. Your place will still be charged for if less than one month's notice is given.

Please note, individual days selected must be the same for all weeks of the booking. All bookings have to be made in advance. No children will be accepted without prior booking.

Full payment for each half term must be made in advance using the SCOPAY on-line payment system. It is the parent’s responsibility to logon and check whether payment has been made for the forthcoming term. Booking forms will be made available on-line and from the School Office. All bookings are accepted subject to the availability of places and sessions may not be exchanged or swapped without prior agreement by the SAS Manager. We accept payment by Childcare Vouchers for SAS only and we are registered with most providers.

Cost: The cost of this provision is £12.00 per child per session (Second or subsequent children will receive a 5% siblings discount, £11.40 per session) and includes a snack. It is our expectation that children will eat their main meal following collection from the provision. Costs will be reviewed regularly and incremental increases should be expected.

We do offer the option of an ad-hoc booking system which is £14.50 per child per session.  We cannot guarantee however that we will always have space available and this is on a case by case basis.

Child Absence: Parents are requested to inform the Manager if their child will not be attending a session, by emailing sas@whitegroveprimary.co.uk or by sending a text message to the SAS mobile 07546 133120 (please do not leave a voicemail). Parents will be contacted if this has not occurred in order to establish the whereabouts of the child. Please note that there are no refunds for not attending a session.

Child Collection: All children should be collected promptly by the end of each session by 6pm at the very latest. If the arrangements for collection are altered and a child is to be collected by another person, we will need to be notified in advance and preferably in writing. Under no circumstances will a child be allowed to leave unaccompanied. Late collection of children will result in the following fines being applied:

Collection between 18:00 and 18:15: £5.00 fine levied
Collection between 18:15 and 18:30: £7.50 fine levied
Collection after 18:30: £10.00 fine levied

(Children’s Social Care may be informed)

Equal Opportunities: This provision is for the benefit of all pupils that attend. We will actively promote ways of working that are inclusive and encourage the participation of all children, regardless of ability.

Behaviour: We set high expectations of behaviour for all pupils at Whitegrove and will apply these to everyone attending these sessions. These include the requirement to be respectful to other pupils and adults/members of staff. Any lapses in these standards will be dealt with appropriately by the staff in line with Whitegrove school policies and parents will subsequently be informed.

Medication: If a child requires the administration of prescribed medication whilst attending the sessions, we will need to be notified in advance and a Medical Consent Form completed.

Emergencies: In the event of a local or national emergency, all pupils will be kept on the school premises until collected at the normal time. In the event that we need to close the facility for any unforeseen reason, we will notify parents immediately and supervise the pupils until they are collected.

Policies and Procedures: The Stay After School (SAS) provision will operate in line with Whitegrove School policies and procedures.
